Renton A Smart Place to
Learn.
Businesses consistently rate education
as one of their top priorities. Without an educated,
motivated workforce to execute business plans, the best
product or service in the world will not find long-term
success in the market.
Another reason why
businesses choose to locate in Renton is an educated
workforce and a variety of training opportunities. Within
the Renton community, the number of individuals 25 years
old or above who have completed four or more years of
college is nearly twice the national average. There
are six four-year colleges and universities and eight
community and technical colleges within a 25-mile radius
of Renton. Both Renton Technical College and City University
have campuses in Renton.
Renton School District
A strong sense of community makes Renton Schools outstanding places to learn and work. Spanning 32.5 square miles, the award-winning Renton School District serves over 13,000 students in preschool through twelfth grade. Four high schools, three middle schools, 13 elementary schools, an early childhood education center and various other special program locations constitute the accredited preschool-12 system. Five of these schools are designated as "Outstanding Blue Ribbon Schools of Excellence" and the District received the prestigious national "What Parents Want" Award.
Creating life-long learners is at the
heart of the Renton School District's instructional
goals. Students are encouraged to reach for excellence
through a variety of programs that focus on basic academic
skills, problem solving, creative and critical thinking,
and social and emotional growth. For additional information
